Tiger Woods is in the headlines again. But it’s not something a celebrity such as himself would like to see plastered all over the news. He was arrested for a DUI in Jupiter, Florida.
The thing is that the headlines make it seem like he was under the influence of alcohol. That’s not always the case when it comes to DUI charges. But that’s what the headlines would have you believe.
Tiger Woods has taken responsibility for his actions and apologized to his fans as well as the world of golf. But he says that his arrest is actually related to the pain medicine that he was on when he was driving. A fact that is totally feasible knowing the history he has had with his back.
In 2014, he underwent the first of several back surgeries. His fourth back surgery was just recently in April and he’s been on prescription medication since. “I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
Woods Being Booked At 7 AM In The Morning
Woods was arrested at 3 in the morning and booked at 7 on Monday. He was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 after probably signing autographs for all the staff and inmates. His actual charges were reported as DUI-unlawful blood alcohol/DUI alcohol or drugs, which attaches the word “drug” to an alcohol-related incident.
He plans on returning to golf after his back heals. But until then he has to take it easy and work through the pain which his medication was helping him do. “It was instant nerve relief. I haven’t felt this good in years.”
Everyone in the golf world is pulling for Tiger Woods and his return. He has a huge support network that will have his back while he works through his issues. If all of these issues are related, here’s to hoping he gets the help he needs and bounces back like the champion he truly is.
