When Adam West passed away recently, it hit everyone by surprise. He had been battling leukemia. No one wanted him to lose that battle or to be gone so soon.
Adam West was famous for playing the Batman of the ’60s. He has had the long-standing reputation as the icon of Batman doing appearances at ComicCon and cameos on shows like Robot Chicken and 30 Rock.
It’s no doubt that he’s going to be missed on shows like Family Guy where he was big enough to make fun of himself. In fact, all his fans were getting used to his random appearances, even in shows like The Big Bang Theory. To say his fans are devastated is an understatement. Some of those fans include the biggest stars in Hollywood themselves.

Of course, the man who played alongside Adam West as Robin, Burt Ward had this to say: “Adam and I had a special friendship for more than 50 years. We shared some of the most fun times of our lives together; our families have deep love and respect for each other. This is a terribly unexpected loss of my lifelong friend, I will forever miss him.”
Julie Newmar, the star who attempted to seduce Batman over and over as Catwoman, tweeted: “A friend said: ‘He was the father that we wanted.’ That is a great gift no matter how you live it. #AdamWest.” She posted that along with the infamous photo of them sharing a shake together in costume.
Catwoman Always Trying To Seduce Batman
Other stars who have played Batman gave their heartfelt condolences. Ben Affleck tweeted, “Adam West exemplified heroism. Kind, funny and an all around great guy. Thank you for showing us all how it’s done.”
Val Kilmer posted, “Ah dear Adam West. He was always so kind when we met. A real gent. Once when I was a kid we found ourselves in front [of] the batmobile. I got in.”
You sure did, Val! You sure did. Adam West didn’t even mind other actors stepping up to play his role. He was a giving man who was always ready to entertain the audience whether that was to make them laugh or root for the good guys. One good guy is gone and he will forever be missed!
