For Game of Thrones fans, Sunday was the long-awaited season finale of the show’s seventh season. For music fans, Sunday was the MTV Video Music Awards. (We won’t talk about what Sunday was for those weird sports and boxing fans.) For any musical celebs who couldn’t stream the episode during this time (or for any music and Thrones fans who had to pick one over the other), Katy Perry brought the world of Westeros to them.
As the event’s host, she had the power to do whatever she wanted. That included taking to the stage dressed up as Daenerys Stormborn, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons.
Even her little pooch Nugget couldn’t keep out of the fun, as he was dressed as Drogon, Dany’s favorite dragon.
With Game of Thrones having only one season left before everyone is killed off (you know that’s likely what will happen), perhaps HBO should consider dedicating one of their four spin-off shows to the adventures of Dany Perry and her sidekick Nugget the dragon. It may not be as exciting as a show about Robert’s Rebellion or Bran the psychic raven, but they could probably squeeze it in there somewhere.
