Following the tragic shooting that occurred this past Sunday in Las Vegas, country music star Jason Aldean has decided to cancel this upcoming weekend’s shows “out of respect for the victims.”

Aldean was onstage when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of more than 22,000 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, killing 58 people and wounding more than 500 others. He was the final performer of the weekend, and rushed off the stage amid the chaos.

“As a result of what happened in Las Vegas this week, we have decided to cancel this coming weekend’s shows. I feel like out of respect for the victims, their families and our fans, it is the right thing to do,” he said in a statement Wednesday. “It has been an emotional time for everyone involved this week, so we plan to take some time to mourn the ones we have lost and be close with our family and friends.”

The canceled shows include three tour stops on Aldean’s “They Don’t Know Tour,” all of which are in California. The following shows will all be offering refunds at the point of purchase:

— Oct. 6 – The Forum, Los Angeles, CA
— Oct. 7 – Mattress Firm Amphitheater, San Diego, CA
— Oct. 8 – Honda Center, Anaheim, CA
