While closing out his set on August 7th at the OVO Fest in Toronto, Drake took the opportunity to announce to the crowds of screaming fans that he will be making his next album in his home city. He was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 24, 1986.
His exact words on the Budweiser stage? He was going to get “back to making this new album in Toronto, just for you.”
His most recent musical collection, “More Life,” was released just this past March. It went double platinum. He’s once again ready to start spitting out legendary lyrics. This will be his fifth album overall. Other big happenings at the OVO Fest during Drake’s performances included Drake bringing former nemesis Tory Lanez onto the stage to joke about their old beef, and how it was silly to dislike one another based off of nothing. After all, they’re from the same city! The Weekend, another former enemy, performed during Drake’s show as well, as the two have now squashed their beef too.
Drake’s complete list of work includes studio albums “Thank Me Later” (2010), “Take Care” (2011), “Nothing Was the Same” (2013), and “Views” (2016). “So Far Gone” (2009) is his extended play. “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” (2015) and “What a Time to Be Alive” (2015) are his commercial mix tapes. “More Life” is considered a playlist.
